fonts-freefont-otf software package provides Freefont Serif, Sans and Mono OpenType fonts, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fonts-freefont-otf
fonts-freefont-otf is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fonts-freefont-otf package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fonts-freefont-otf *
You will get with fonts-freefont-otf package name, version, architecture and description in a table
